Towing the Line - stepping up the design line
Enough is enough.
I'm sure 20 years from now, when the Internet has completely switched to mobile only, the designers will look back on the personal computer website and think to themselves, "Did people really like how all of this looks? Were they able to find everything?" I wish I could leave them a message and say no!
Nobody likes the chaotic and un-educated format these information portals appear in. I think its time that designers ( and for clarification I am speaking to web designers, designers that think about the interface and interactivity of a website not just how pretty things look with a drop shadow and some bevelling ) start forcing these dinosaur slackers to step it up.
No more bull-shit layouts from print designers, no more mediocre horse-shit from these art school drops outs who went from clip-art to the conclusion that they can produce a quality site. I am tired of seeing my online space riddled with the crusty, moldy, 1995 dial up grey stucco texture backgrounds repeated through tables and slices of gifs polluting my web experience. I don't want to hear "Eye of the Tiger" start playing the background at 300db when I first come to read about your possibly amazing product. I want control. I want standards. I want a riot bullet in the head of every sorry s.o.b. that calls him or herself a "web designer" and paints the Internet blue and red with their uninformed rot.
This is the plague that will forever prevent us as professionals from moving up in the world and I will be damned if we continue to just sit idly by while these no-talent fossils collect our paychecks for churning out sophomoric crap. It is time to attack these posers head on and get what is rightfully ours.
TO ARMS MY BROTHERS!

Exactly....
One thing in particular comes to mind here.... Myspace Profiles. Everyone is a web designer / web developer today since Myspace first truly enabled users to create & customize their profiles... Myspace should be burnt to the ground for giving people who barely have the ability to surf the internet the idea they can design stuff...
